Neighboring the family friendly Centennial reservation in Wellesley, MA. the design was conceived as a modern scale dutch colonial. The homeowners loved the gambrel roof lines found throughout the area but wanted a more modern approach to the design. The home hosts an open plan kitchen/dining and living area, butlers pantry, a finished entertainment basement level, five bedrooms + ensuite bathrooms, a formal sitting area and an attached three car garage.. The design fell within the criteria of the Large House Review process of the town, requiring the design not only adhere to the scale restraints , but also adhere to the open space, drainage, circulation, lighting and preservation of existing landscape

One of the primary design goals was to create a strong entry sequence, a sense of arrival, a layered sequence of spaces gradually opening up the home as one moves from the front to the rear of the house.
As you enter the home you are welcomed into a meticulously panel and trim foyer hall with a cascading asymmetric stair drawing your eye to the open second floor hall.
The basement was designed to be the homes complete entertainment space featuring a modest kitchen space, golf simulator, home movies theater along with flexible space for gatherings and parties.
