Stone House

Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean within a family compound, the Stone House was in need of a renovation to accommodate the needs of a growing family.  Our client wanted the finished home to house their grown children and their families during the warmer months and holiday seasons.

Although not formerly designated as a historic property, the town maintains its own historic board and stringent guidelines for alterations to pieces of property such as this one.  The historic board requires a percentage of the original exterior to remain as to not stray too far from the original aesthetic.  Years of wear and tear had compromised the structural integrity of the walls and floors.  Restructuring the house fixed these issues and also alleviated restrictions of the existing conditions.

The end result was a modern kitchen and flowing spaces overlooking the ocean.  The renovation delivered two mirrored master suites with private baths.  There were secondary bedrooms and support spaces on the second floor.
