Smithfield, RI
Located next to a lake in an already bustling community, the design of Stillwater Cove started with an over arching conversation of what it means to build for the community. We wanted to think of multiple users, layout variations for different lifestyles, and maintain high quality design within a construction budget to match the current market value of the condominiums within the area.

The office used this project as an exercise of speed and iteration as we used both 2D and 3D modeling tools to generate multiple massing concepts for proof of concept for individual buildings, as well as the development plan. This allowed the design to take advantage of what the site was offering for views and green space as well meet the needs of the developer for the permitting and market purposes.
Lacuna Design developed the identity branding for Stillwater Cove, assisting the developer market and sell the condominiums. The pace of construction was semi-dependent on market demand so the caliber and quality of the materials was almost as critical as the architectural design. The marketing identity included not only the “logo” for this development but also the marketing signs, handouts and road information signs.
