Architects Opus
As owners of a small bungalow built in 1920, we wanted to to bring the home back to life with our own style and yet maintain the unique qualities the original home had to offer. Such as life this project has taken many twists and turns;
The work on the property started in 2003 with removing 3 generations of paint on the original wood trim. In 2005 we started renovation of the attic space into a more livable second floor master bedroom, closet, guest room /office with space planned for a future bathroom. This part of the renovation included the plans for the kitchen as well as a new cantilevered oak stair winding around the chimney. In 2015 the kitchen and entry portions of the renovation were tackled, transforming this once small, dark and tightly walled bungalow into a flowing connection of light filled spaces to entertain, live and raise a family within. It was bitter sweet to say good-bye.
